Welcome to the very first Playlist Patterns post! Very briefly, this is a blog to track a project created by three friends, Jen, Gem & Jo, to share their tastes in music and design, by picking a song and then producing a pattern inspired by it. With vastly ranging tastes in music and backgrounds in textile, pattern design and illustration, we hope you enjoy the outcomes, and maybe feel inspired to create some designs yourself.
As the blog grows we hope to make submissions and reader involvement a greater part of the project, and eventually produce a shop where you can buy a range of products inspired by your favourite songs.
We’re very excited to launch this project, and would love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below!
You can see a larger version of each image by clicking on it.
Thanks for visiting, and find out what the next Playlist Pattern will be at the end of this post :)

JEN’S CHOICE
“I wasn’t sure if I liked Laura Marling’s folk style until I heard this track, I thought the build up and the imagery she sings about made it a good one to try and interpret into a design.” Listen on Youtube

The next Playlist Pattern will be Gem’s choice: Limit to Your Love, by Feist. Look out for it in mid July!
